Miriam Sorell

Miriam Sorell is an experienced transportation professional with a strong focus on performance planning, policy development, and sustainable transportation in urban environments. Currently serving as the Transit Operations Performance Officer at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency since November 2010, Miriam develops Key Performance Indicators and streamlines data collection processes to enhance transportation outcomes. Previous roles include Planning Chief at the SFMTA COVID-19 Department Operations Center, where leadership was provided in ensuring safety compliance, and Transportation Demand Management Program Manager, where sustainable transportation strategies were developed for San Francisco. Additionally, Miriam has managed diverse teams in the Livable Streets initiative and worked on bicycle and pedestrian improvements. Prior experience includes roles at Walk San Francisco, 511 Rideshare, and various consulting firms. Miriam holds a BS and MCP in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
