Vilaska Nguyen is a seasoned trial attorney with extensive experience in criminal defense, currently representing homicide clients in the Homicide Unit at the San Francisco Public Defender's Office since August 2004. Prior experience includes serving as a certified law clerk at the University of San Francisco, where Nguyen defended misdemeanor clients and investigated juvenile cases, as well as a death penalty law clerk for the Office of the State Public Defender, focusing on clients on San Quentin's Death Row. Additionally, Nguyen contributed to civil rights legislation as a legislative liaison and community outreach coordinator for the Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law and a Bachelor's Degree in American Ethnic Studies and English from the University of Washington.
