Mike Fernandez

Mike Fernandez has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Mike currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at the San Francisco Public Library since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) as the Project Controls & Support Manager from May 2017 to April 2022.

From December 2008 to May 2017, Mike held multiple roles at the San Francisco Department of Public Works, including Principal Administrative Analyst and Fiscal and Policy Analyst. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Director at Concerned Capital for a few months in 2007.

In 2006, Mike worked as a Program Coordinator at Gateway Cities Community Development Corporation, where they developed capacity and projects such as real estate acquisition and development. Mike also assisted with web design, contracts, and legal documents. Additionally, they served as a Research Fellow at the Southern California Association of Non-Profit Housing from February to August 2006.

Mike's work experience also includes serving as the Director of Revenue Development at Angelex Technologies, Inc. from June 2003 to July 2005.

Mike Fernandez received their BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999-2003. Mike pursued a major in Cognitive Science, with a focus on Cognitive Psychology and Computational Modeling. Additionally, they had a minor in Public Policy. Later on, from 2005-2007, Mike Fernandez attended the University of Southern California, where they obtained their Master's degree in Public Policy.
