Teri Zamora

Vice Chancellor, Fiscal Affairs at San Jacinto College

Teri Zamora was named Vice Chancellor of Fiscal Affairs in January 2018. She came to San Jacinto College from Houston Community College (HCC) where she served as senior vice chancellor of finance and administration.

In her role at San Jacinto College, Zamora oversees facilities services, contracts and purchasing, auxiliary services, internal audit, safety and risk management, budgets, accounting and financial services, grants management, and the police department.

Mrs. Zamora has more than 20 years of increasingly responsible senior leadership experience in higher education. At Houston Community College, she was at the center of reimagining the institution as the college moved through a complete transformation process. She has also served at Paris Junior College as vice president of business services and in the Texas State Technical College System as executive vice president of financial and administrative services and associate vice chancellor of institutional research.

Mrs. Zamora embraces her role in higher education, and is excited about the role of the community college in impacting the lives of our students. She works to further the community college influence by serving as Treasurer of the Texas Association of Community College Business Officers (TACCBO), and sitting on the Community College Constituency Council of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).

Prior to entering higher education, Zamora had a career as a controller in the maquiladora industry in Mexico, and was also part owner of her family’s retail business for many years.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Texas, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Texas – Pan American.
