Alyssa Wong Villaruz has a diverse work experience, starting with their time at Macy's from November 2006 to August 2008, where they served as an HR Assistant and Sales Associate. During this role, they handled various office duties, conducted phone interviews, and managed confidential information.

From February 2010 to November 2012, Alyssa worked as a Marketing Representative at Timpany Center, and simultaneously served as a Graduate Assistant at San Jose State University's Department of Kinesiology. In the latter position, they also worked as a Graduate Assistant to Dr. Ted Butryn from July 2011 to April 2012.

In 2001, Alyssa joined the United States Soccer Federation as a Referee, a role they currently hold.

Furthermore, Alyssa has extensive experience working at the San Jose Earthquakes Soccer, starting as a Sales Intern from April to November 2012. Alyssa then served as a Front Office Assistant from March to August 2013, subsequently transitioning into the role of a Fan Relations Specialist until February 2016. From February 2016 to October 2017, they worked as the Manager of Premium Seating Relations, followed by their promotion to Senior Manager, Fan Relations from October 2017 to January 2019. As of January 2019, they have been occupying the position of Director, Account Service with the San Jose Earthquakes Soccer.

Alyssa Wong Villaruz obtained their Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts from Contra Costa College, where they studied from 2006 to 2008. Alyssa then pursued their higher education at San Jose State University and completed their Masters of Science (MS) degree in Kinesiology, specializing in the field of study, from 2008 to 2013.
