Greg Tuyor has extensive work experience in the field of fire service. Greg started their career as a firefighter at the City of Fresno in 1996 and worked there until 2001. In 2001, they joined the San Jose Fire Department as a firefighter and eventually progressed to the roles of Fire Engineer, Fire Captain, and currently holds the position of Battalion Chief.
In addition to their firefighting career, Greg also worked as an Assistant Football Coach at Chabot College from 2014 to 2016. In 2022, they joined the San Jose Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 230 as a Member Services Representative.
Greg Tuyor received their Associate of Science degree in Fire Technology from Chabot College, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. Greg then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at California State University - East Bay from 1992 to 1996. In addition, Greg attended Menlo College from 1995 to 1996, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree from there.

In terms of critical infrastructure, SJFD is the emergency service provider for a number of high-hazard occupancies, including an International Airport; 1 municipal airport; 7 major hospitals (including 3 trauma centers, and 7 emergency departments); the SAP Center, home of the NHL San Jose Sharks, (maximum occupancy 20,000); San José State University (the oldest public institution of higher education on the West Coast), student population of 31,906; three super regional malls; and 516 high-rise structures.
