Hoskie Benally Jr.

Trustee, District 1 at San Juan College

Hoskie Benally, Jr. was elected to the San Juan College Board of Trustees in 2017, representing district 1.

Benally is a Shiprock resident who serves as a community and government liaison for the Native American Disability Law Center. He graduated from Shiprock High School in 1968 and Brigham Young University in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He has worked in administration for more than 30 years and also served previously on the Central Consolidated School District Board for 8 years.

Benally and his wife Donna have three grown sons together as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoys listening to music, especially jazz, watching documentaries and learning about Navajo philosophy.
