San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party
Makara Tunstall currently serves as Shift Lead and Barista at The Neighborhood Acai and Juice Bar since August 2022, while also working as an Intern for the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party and a Contributing Editor for the Paideia Journal of Political Science since November 2022 and November 2021, respectively. Previously, Makara held the position of Vice President of Membership and served as a Membership Committee Member at Delta Gamma from January 2021 to December 2022 and worked as a Host at 1865 Craft House and Kitchen from June 2021 to January 2022. Makara is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, with an expected graduation in June 2024, having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the same institution in June 2023. Makara was awarded the International Baccalaureate Diploma from Northfield High School in Denver, CO, in May 2020.

San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party
The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP), also referred to as the San Luis Obispo County Democratic Central Committee, is the voice of the Democratic Party in San Luis Obispo County. The mission of the SLOCDP is to support and elect Democratic candidates who reflect Democratic Party values, and to promote Democratic principles. To accomplish these goals, the SLOCDP registers Democratic voters, raises funds, organizes and supports local Democratic Clubs, and performs other duties and services for the overall benefit of the Democratic Party in San Luis Obispo County. SLOCDP acts as an information hub for the county, disseminating the message, philosophy and principles of the Party through voter outreach and networking. Officially, the SLOCDP endorses candidates, propositions, initiatives and/or measures and communicates those endorsements to the public.
