Sarah Ashton

Sarah Ashton is an experienced education professional with a strong background in special education and technology integration. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher at San Rafael City Schools since July 2019, Sarah previously held multiple leadership roles at San Francisco Unified School District, including Director of Student Systems and Supervisor, where responsibilities included overseeing data management, facilitating professional development, and managing implementation of a district-wide student information system. Sarah's earlier experiences include teaching and program management roles in various school districts, highlighted by co-founding Willard Alternative High School and developing successful programs for struggling learners. Sarah holds a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Administration from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Denison University, along with international education experience. A significant health challenge in 2022 necessitated a year-long recovery from brain surgery.
