Sam Yau

Sam Yau has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. They currently hold the position of Staff Software Engineer at Sana, starting in May 2023. Prior to this role, Sam was a Senior Software Engineer at Sana, starting in February 2020.

Before joining Sana, Sam worked at Justworks as a Senior Software Engineer. During their time at Justworks, Sam led a task-force engineering team that successfully tripled the company's healthcare carrier integrations within a tight timeline. Sam contributed to various aspects of the project, including creating a roadmap, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, improving the system's architecture, and enhancing crucial subroutines. This effort resulted in the implementation of end-to-end integrations with medical carriers such as Kaiser and United Healthcare, in addition to the existing Aetna integration.

Prior to Justworks, Sam worked at Citi as an Apps Dev Intermediate Programmer Analyst. In this role, they were part of the Global Margins Technology team and contributed to the development of MONET, a web application that supported the organization in managing and reporting margin exposures. Sam also developed a Java application for the Click-FX dev team at Citi, which helped maintain process integrity and consolidate information across FXLM's UNIX servers.

Sam's earlier experiences include a Software Engineer Internship at UBS in 2012 and a Software Engineer Internship at Switch2Health in the same year. They also worked at Rutgers New Brunswick Computing Services as a Help Desk/Operations Consultant and Busch Labs Consultant from March 2011 to January 2012.
