Ben Lam

Ben Lam has extensive experience in analytical development, particularly in flow cytometry and gene editing technologies. Currently serving as Senior Director at Sana Biotechnology, Inc., since July 2019, Ben has held various roles within the organization, including Director and Principal Scientist. Previously, Ben worked at Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc., where expertise in analytical method development was applied to support an allogeneic CAR-T oncology program. At Fluidigm Corporation, significant contributions were made to the development of novel metal-antibody conjugates for mass and imaging mass cytometry. Ben started a scientific career at STEMCELL Technologies, focusing on flow cytometry-based functional assays for primary human T cells. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular, and Cellular Biology from the University of Southern California.
