Niranjan Thangarajah

Niranjan Thangarajah is the current Deputy CEO at Sanasa Development Bank. Niranjan has over 18 years of experience in the Banking industry, having worked at Standard Chartered Bank, National Development Bank PLC (NDB), and Citi.

Thangarajah began their career as a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking at Citi in 2003. In 2006, they joined National Development Bank PLC (NDB) as an Assistant Vice President in Corporate Banking. Niranjan was responsible for building a business and driving it towards exponential growth which contributed towards substantial Profits & high ROTE. The team they led was responsible for managing both large Corporates and Middle Market businesses.

In 2014, Thangarajah was promoted to Assistant Vice President - Branch Network Management at NDB. In this role, they were responsible for driving Corporate (Middle Markets), SME & Retail Banking across four regions towards a double digit CAGR in AUM, Revenue and Profits.

In 2017, Thangarajah joined Standard Chartered Bank as the Head of Business Banking. Niranjan revamped the business via new structures, products and Acquisition. Niranjan played a key role in increasing YOY revenue with substantial increases in operating profits, ROTE & EVA.

Thangarajah has been with Sanasa Development Bank since October 2021 and currently serves as the Deputy CEO.
