William Cortez has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. William worked as a Senior Engineer in Hardware at Sanctuary AI starting from 2023. Prior to that, they were an R&D Engineer at Tangible Research from 2020 to 2023, where they led the mechanical design of a custom telerobot platform. William also worked at the California Department of Water Resources as an Electrical Field Engineer from 2017 to 2020, where they focused on digital documentation and assisted with research and communication. William worked as an Engineering Consultant at Tangible Research in 2019, contributing to the development of testing apparatuses for materials used in robotics. In addition, they served as a Project Manager for a senior capstone design project at California State University, Chico in 2015, where they led the development of an electromechanical prosthetic hand.
William Cortez obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from California State University, Chico, which they attended from 2012 to 2016. In addition, they obtained certifications such as Engineer in Training from NCEES in April 2018 and Solidworks Certification from Dassault Systèmes in May 2012.
