Global Head Finance Sandoz Technical Operations at Sandoz

Svilen Spasov has extensive experience in finance and operations management. Svilen started their career in 2002 as a Treasury Manager at Kraft Foods Bulgaria, where they managed cash flow, credit management, and ERP implementation. Svilen later became the Manager of Manufacturing Controlling, overseeing cost optimization and expansion projects for two manufacturing sites.

In 2007, Svilen joined Sandoz as the Head of Finance and Administration, where they led a successful business turnaround and established policies, procedures, and analytics to support decision-making. Svilen went on to hold various roles at Sandoz, including Regional BPA in Central and Eastern Europe, Head of BPA in Global Development, Project Lead for BPA Productivity, and Region Finance Head for Technical Operations Solids.

In 2016, Svilen joined Novartis as the Head of Finance for the EU Cluster Solids in Technical Operations. Svilen was responsible for budgeting, reporting, and driving strategic initiatives across 10 production plants. Svilen later returned to Sandoz in 2018 as the Head of Finance Operations and Planning for Germany, where they provided senior business partnering and led a team of 25 people. Svilen also acted as the CFO for Commercial Operations in Germany on an interim basis, overseeing finance matters and delivering digital innovation.

Currently, Svilen is the Global Head of Finance for Sandoz Technical Operations, where they provide strategic direction and business partnering.

Svilen Spasov has a diverse education history, including both executive education programs and traditional degree programs. In 2005, they obtained a certification in Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute. In 2002, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. In 2010, they earned an MBA from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management. Additionally, in 2010, they completed an EMBA program at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) Executive Academy. In 2013, Svilen participated in the Novartis Finance Leadership program at Harvard Business School Executive Education. Finally, in 2015, they attended the Novartis Advance Program at Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth.
