James Piel

James Piel has over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial industry. Their most recent role was as a Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager at Sandy Spring Bank, where they managed a portfolio of relationships and conducted risk assessments. Prior to that, they worked at F.N.B. Corporation as a Vice President/Senior Credit Underwriter, where they prepared credit analysis packages and processed PPP loan applications. James also held positions at Wells Fargo, M&T Bank, Euler Hermes North America, and Perpetual Savings Bank, N.A, where they gained experience in commercial credit analysis, field examination, and claims adjustment. James has extensive experience in underwriting, risk management, and portfolio management.

James Piel holds a Master of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Notre Dame of Maryland University, which they obtained from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business with a Concentration in Accounting at the University of Baltimore from 1984 to 1986. In addition to their formal education, James Piel has also obtained additional certifications. In June 2014, they completed a course on Commercial Loans to Business at Omega Performance, and in July 2013, they earned certification in Certified Financial Statement Spreading from Moody's Analytics.
