Joan Ward

Joan Ward has extensive experience in the banking industry. Joan began their career at Citizens Bank of Maryland in 1983 as a Supervisor of Trust Operations. Joan then joined First Union Bank in 1997 as a Senior Trust Associate, where they worked until 2001. In 2001, Joan joined Sandy Spring Bank as the Chief Operating Officer & Compliance Officer for Sandy Spring Trust, a role they currently hold.

Joan Ward completed their education at two different institutions. From 2006 to 2008, they attended Cannon Financial Institute and obtained a degree in Certified Financial and Investment Risk Management. Prior to that, from 1975 to 1978, they studied at Church Teachers College in Mandeville, Jamaica. At this institution, they pursued a degree in Education with a focus on Mathematics and Science.
