Nicolas Trujillo has extensive experience in law enforcement and military service. Currently working as a Hit and Run investigator at SSPDS and previously as a Policer Officer 3 at Sandy Springs Police. Prior to that, Trujillo served as a Logistics chief at USMC 3rd Force Recon and as a Heavy Machine Gun specialist at USMC 3rd battalion 2nd Marine division. Additionally, Trujillo worked as a Dekalb County Police officer at DKPD.

The Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) was created in 2006 and serves the community with 148 sworn officers. Sandy Springs Police Department Operations are coordinated by two districts: North and South. The districts are commanded by the patrol Captain who is supported by Lieutenants. The patrol division is complemented by specialty units including Street Crimes Unit (SCU), Traffic Unit, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The SSPD has several specialty vehicles and equipment including the river response boat, Rhino ATV units, river kayaks, and an armored vehicle for tactical response.
