Dr. Christopher Rainbow is a seasoned professional in the fields of mental health, research, and community engagement, currently serving as a Research Fellow at SANE since January 2024, where responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating programs through quantitative data analysis. Previously, Dr. Rainbow held various roles, including Manager of Digital Communities and Groups, overseeing the strategic growth of digital platforms, and Senior Project Officer at Victoria Police, conducting evaluations of mental health initiatives. A prominent figure in suicide prevention, Dr. Rainbow has managed significant projects at Beyond Blue and engaged in clinical governance as a member of the QLife Safety & Quality Governance Committee. With a background in film and communications, Dr. Rainbow brings a unique perspective to advocacy and initiative development, supported by extensive educational qualifications, including ongoing doctoral studies in psychology at Deakin University.

SANE
SANE supports all people in Australia affected by complex mental health issues. We exist to break barriers, raise expectations, and champion the voices of people with lived experience and their families and communities; to increase peer-led, connected support and drive systemic change. SANE is unique in our focus of supporting people who experience complex mental health issues, trauma, and supporting the mental health of those who are autistic and people with intellectual disability. We provide a range of free digital and telehealth support services including peer support, counselling, community forums, peer-led groups, art and social groups and information resources. SANE is widely respected as a lived experience-led organisation and advocate with a long history of collaboration across and beyond the mental health and suicide prevention sectors. Guided by our vision, goals, values and behaviours, we help create brighter futures for all people and families facing the challenges of complex mental health issues by working towards ending mental health inequity and social and economic exclusion.
