Maria Bagonis

Maria Bagonis, Ph.D., currently serves as a Data and Technology Advancement Scholar and Senior Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, focusing on improving data aggregation and sharing for the Federal Interagency Traumatic Brain Injury Repository through the development of AI-based tools. Previously, Bagonis acted as Principal Investigator and Project Lead at PrimeNeuro, leading efforts on MRI biomarkers for early autism detection, while also conducting significant research on infant brain development. Bagonis's extensive experience includes postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a research fellowship at Harvard University, complemented by teaching roles at Binghamton University. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Harvard University, an MS in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry from the University of Oxford, and an MS and BS in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Binghamton University.
