Kevin Tharp

Kevin Tharp, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator at Sanford Burnham Prebys since November 2023. Prior to this role, Kevin Tharp was a Postdoctoral Scholar at UCSF Medical Center within the Center for Bioengineering & Tissue Regeneration - Weaver Lab from August 2017 to October 2023. Kevin Tharp earned a Ph.D. in Metabolic Biology at UC Berkeley, where participation spanned from January 2013 to August 2017, and also held the position of Research Specialist and Laboratory Manager at UC Berkeley between March 2011 and January 2013. Earlier experience includes roles as Laboratory Manager and Research Assistant II at Oregon Health and Sciences University from July 2009 to March 2011, and as a Laboratory Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher at UC Santa Cruz from January 2006 to March 2009. Kevin Tharp earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Santa Cruz in 2009.
