Clayton van Balen

Clayton Van Balen holds an extensive background in the medical field, currently serving as the Enterprise Medical Director of Employee Health Services at Sanford Health since October 2004. Prior experience includes the role of Medical Director at Mercy Business Health from March 1999 to October 2004 and a position at the Siouxland Medical Education Foundation, Inc. as a Family Practice Resident from March 1997 to February 1999. A solo practitioner from July 1980 to January 1997, Clayton Van Balen holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from The University of South Dakota's Sanford School of Medicine and a Master's of Science in Preventive Medicine from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Additionally, educational foundations include a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies along with Mathematics and Business from the University of South Dakota and early education at St. John's University and St. John's Preparatory School.
