Cromwell Tinyiko Mashengete has a comprehensive work experience in the investment industry. Cromwell Tinyiko started their career as an Economics Lecturer at the University of the North from 1983 to 1989. Cromwell Tinyiko then worked as a Project Leader at the Development Bank of Southern Africa from 1990 to 1991. Following that, they served as a Financial Economist at Standard Bank Group from 1991 to 1992. Cromwell then joined Deloitte & Touche as a Senior Consultant from 1992 to 1994.
Moving into the investment field, Cromwell worked as a Portfolio Manager at Franklin Templeton NIB Investments from 1995 to 2003. Cromwell Tinyiko then joined OMAM (Old Mutual Asset Management) as a Portfolio Manager from 2003 to 2005. After that, they worked at Prudential Asset Manager as a Portfolio Manager from 2005 to 2017.
In April 2017, Cromwell joined Sanlam Investments' active management business as a Senior Equities Portfolio Manager and Equity Strategist. Cromwell Tinyiko was later promoted to Co-head of Equities in October 2019. With their 21 years' experience as an investment professional, Cromwell has gained significant expertise in the field.
Cromwell Tinyiko Mashengete completed their BA Honours in Economics at the University of the North in 1982. Cromwell Tinyiko then went on to pursue an MA in Development Economics at Stanford University. Lastly, they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Brunel University London in 1998.
