Eugene Moodley

Eugene Moodley has a strong background in IT and project management. Eugene is currently working as the Head of IT and PMO at Sanlam Investments since June 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at Glacier by Sanlam from 2009 to 2022, including Head of Enterprise Architecture, Information Security Officer, Manager of IT Architecture, Manager of the Web renewal project, Application Architect, Technical Lead, and Senior .net Developer. Before joining Glacier by Sanlam, they worked as a Software Engineer at DVT from 2006 to 2009 and as a Senior .NET Developer at Shoprite - Business Intelligence from 2005 to 2006. Eugene began their career at MWEB, where they served as a Senior Analyst Developer from 2003 to 2005 and an Analyst Developer from 2000 to 2003.

Eugene obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Information Technology from the University of Cumbria. Eugene attended the university from 2021 to 2024.

Prior to their MBA, Eugene earned an Advanced Leadership Certificate in Design Thinking from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town in 2020. This certificate focused on organizational leadership.

In 2016, Eugene completed the Senior Management Development Programme at Stellenbosch Business School, a customized program offered by Sanlam/Santam. This program was at the NQF level 7 and focused on business administration and management.

In 2013, Eugene also attended Stellenbosch Business School and completed the Business Management Programme, another customized program offered by Sanlam/Santam. This program was at the NQF level 6 and covered general business administration and management.

Eugene's earliest recorded education is a M+4 Higher Education Diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science from Springfield College of Education, earned from 1995 to 1998.

In addition to their formal education, Eugene has obtained several certifications. These include ThePowerMBA certification in Business Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Innovation & Digital Transformation from ThePowerMBA obtained in October 2021. Eugene also holds certifications as an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM obtained in September 2020, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance obtained in February 2014, and Architecture++ from Deon Pollard and Associates obtained in November 2012.

Eugene has also achieved various Microsoft certifications including MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer, MCTS: .Net Framework 2.0, Distributed Applications, MCTS: .Net Framework 2.0, Web Applications, MCTS: .Net Framework 2.0, Windows Applications, MCSD: Microsoft .NET, MCAD: Microsoft .NET, and MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional. These certifications were obtained between 2004 and 2008.
