Ockert Doyer has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Ockert started their career at Fitch Ratings in 2006 as an Analyst, where they gained knowledge in risk analysis for infrastructure and project finance assets. Ockert then became an Associate Director, focusing on financing instruments for various projects in the UK and Europe. Ockert'sresponsibilities included calculating default risk, developing rating criteria, conducting stress testing, and presenting rating recommendations. In 2010, Ockert joined UniCredit as an Associate, analyzing securitization positions and traded products. Ockert joined Sanlam in 2012 as a Credit Manager and later became a Portfolio Manager. In 2017, they transitioned to Sanlam Investments as a Portfolio Manager and eventually took on the role of Head of Credit in November 2019.

Ockert Doyer, CFA, FRM started their education at Rob Ferreira High School, where they studied from 1992 to 1996. Following their high school education, they joined the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from 1997 to 2001. At the university, they pursued a degree in Financial Accounting and completed their Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) in this field of study.
