Gavin van Wyk

Gavin van Wyk (MBA) has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Gavin is currently the Head of Data Management Platforms & Solutions at Sanlam since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Alexander Forbes for 4 years, from 2017 to 2021, holding positions such as Analytics Dev Manager / Data Product Solutions Architect and Data Strategist. At CommerceZone, they served as a Private Cloud DevOps (SAP) from 2013 to 2017, implementing SAP SRM instances for multiple companies. Gavin also worked at The IQ Business Group (Pty) Ltd, SA as a Senior Principle Consultant in SAP solution implementation from 2011 to 2013. Gavin gained experience at Siemens IT Solutions & Services as an Account Executive and Programme Manager from 2006 to 2010. Furthermore, they worked at Siemens Business Services as a Senior Project Manager and Technology Architect/Consultant from 2002 to 2006. Earlier in their career, Gavin held roles as a Senior Microsoft Consultant at Enterprise Connection in 2001, a Technical Consultant at Siemens from 1998 to 2001, and a Senior Systems & Database Administrator at Medscheme from 1996 to 1998.

Gavin van Wyk (MBA) has a diverse educational background. Gavin obtained a Master of Business Administration degree in Strategy and Change from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, completing their studies from 2004 to 2007.

In 2008, Gavin pursued education in project management and achieved a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) International.

Later, in 2017, Gavin enrolled at DAMA International to specialize in data management. Gavin successfully completed the program, earning a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification in June of that year.

On top of their degree and certifications, Gavin obtained the MCSE (SQL & Exchange) certification from Microsoft in January 2000.
