Richard has also served as the CTO of DEY Storage Systems, where they emphasized the importance of building relationships and delivering value. Additionally, Richard has held leadership positions at Richard Elling Consulting and Nexenta Systems, where they provided IT consulting services and delivered enterprise-class storage solutions globally. Richard has been involved in various organizations, serving as a board member and CFO for the Ramona Emergency Assistance League and the Ramona Outback Amateur Radio Society. Richard's expertise includes system architecture, performance monitoring, capacity planning, REST API development, and working with technologies such as NFS, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, ZFS, SAS, SATA, containers, and various programming languages. Richard Elling obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University from 1981 to 1986. Richard later pursued an Executive MBA from USC Marshall School of Business from 2006 to 2008. In addition, they also studied engineering at The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 1980 to 1981.
