Armin Opitz has extensive experience in the chemical engineering field, currently serving as a Director at Sanofi since December 2009, with a focus on process improvement and tech transfer within the Genzyme network. Previous roles at Sanofi include Associate Director, Principal Process Engineer, Senior Process Engineer, and Process Engineer III, supporting manufacturing sites through experimental work and computational fluid dynamics. Prior to Sanofi, Armin Opitz held a Postdoctoral Fellow position at the University of Delaware, where research centered on the development of iron nanoparticles for pancreatic cancer detection and neutron scattering methods. Additionally, a collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University was undertaken to develop a novel cancer detection agent, involving molecular dynamics simulations. Armin Opitz holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
