Matthew MacKey

Matthew Mackey serves as a Distinguished Scientist and Lab Head in the Immune Checkpoint Cluster within the Immunology & Inflammation Therapeutic Area at Sanofi since June 2020. Prior experience includes roles as Scientific Director at GSK, Principal Scientist at Merck, and Associate Director at ImmuNext, Inc., where strategic oversight was provided for programs focused on the VISTA immune checkpoint regulator. Additional experience encompasses leadership positions in drug development for autoimmune disorders and cancer immunotherapy at Eisai and Sanofi, as well as foundational research at the National Institutes of Health. Matthew Mackey holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and a B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry from Colby College.
