Merja Karhapää

Merja Karhapää's work experience includes serving as an Advisory Board Member for Nasdaq Nordic, a Board Member for Nasdaq Helsinki Exchange and Nasdaq Nordic, and a Board Member and HR Committee Member for Diakonissalaitos. Merja has also held positions as the Chief Legal Officer and Group General Counsel at Sanoma Corporation, as well as VP of Group Legal Affairs. In addition, Karhapää has served as an Expert Judge in IPR and Antitrust cases at the Market Court of Finland, a Board Member and Audit Committee Member for Biotie Therapies and Finnair, respectively, and a Board Member (Deputy) for Helsingin Sanomat Foundation. Merja also had experience as the VP of Intellectual Capital and Assistant General Counsel at Danisco Group.

Merja Karhapää holds a Master's degree in Laws from the University of Helsinki, which they obtained from 1982 to 1987. In 1998 to 1999, they pursued a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice at the University of Bristol. Recently, from 2016 to 2018, they completed the Integral Coaching® Certification Program (ICCP), earning certifications as an Integral Professional Coach (IPC) and Integral Associate Coach (IAC). Merja'sfield of study for this program was Professional Coaching.
