Thomas Danielson is an experienced engineer and researcher specializing in infrared systems and optical data transfer, currently serving as the IRSP Product Engineering Lead and Systems Engineer at Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. since March 2014. Prior to this role, Thomas was a Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where significant contributions included developing firmware and diagnostic software for particle detectors. Academic experience encompasses a Doctor of Philosophy in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Thomas also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, analyzing electron-proton interactions and optimizing trigger software, as well as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in introductory physics courses. Thomas began the academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Knox College.
