Karen Dutton

Karen Dutton has extensive experience in music education and performance, currently serving as the Camerata and Philharmonia Winds/Brass/Percussion Coach at Santa Barbara Symphony since September 2017. Additionally, since 2013, Karen has directed the Prime Time Pops Band, which includes musicians aged 50 and older, conducting four concerts annually at local retirement communities. With a long-standing position as a music teacher at Adams Elementary School, part of the Santa Barbara School Districts since August 1988, Karen teaches general and instrumental music to students in grades TK-6. Karen holds both a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from UCLA, obtained in 1987 and 1986, respectively.
