Maritsa Enriquez

Maritsa Enriquez, MEd, currently serves as a 3rd grade teacher at Santa Barbara Community Academy within the Santa Barbara Unified School District, a position held since August 2022. Previous experience includes working as an M.Ed. candidate at Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, where research interests focused on mindfulness, nonviolent communication, childhood obesity, and teacher burnout. Additional roles encompass substitute teaching and special education support with the Hawaii State Department of Education, tutoring at The Tutoring Center Honolulu, and serving as a research assistant in various capacities, including oncology clinical trials and behavioral intervention. Maritsa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Sciences with a minor in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a Master of Education in Teaching from UC Santa Barbara.
