Jessica Diaz is the current Director at Santa Barbara Zoo. Jessica has previous experience as a Summer Law Clerk at Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP, where they researched environmental, energy, land use, real estate and municipal law issues; wrote legal memoranda; assisted with the drafting of briefs and motions. Jessica was also a District Director and Supervisor for County of Sonoma from January 2009 to June 2011, where they were responsible for all day-to-day matters including scheduling, correspondence, and constituent services; assisted with policy analysis; planned community forums; prepared talking points; drafted public communications; represented the Supervisor at community events; liaised with stakeholders and advocacy groups. Jessica has also worked as a Law Clerk at Alaska Supreme Court from August 2014 to September 2015, and as a Research Assistant for Professor Michelle Anderson from January 2014 to May 2014.
Jessica Diaz attended Harvard University for their Bachelor of Arts, where they majored in Government. Jessica then attended the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law for their Juris Doctor. Jessica graduated in the top 10% of their class and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Jessica also received an Environmental Law Certificate.
