Akila Elanchelvan

Director Of Information Technology at Santa Clara County Fire Department

Akila Elanchelvan has a diverse work experience in the field of Information Technology. They began their career at dotSolved Systems Inc in 2003 as a Technical Lead. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at the San Jose Fire Department, starting as a Sr. Systems Applications Programmer and later becoming an Information Systems Analyst. In 2017, they joined the City of San José, first as a Supervising Applications Analyst and then as a Dept. Information Technology Manager. Since 2019, they have been working at the Santa Clara County Fire Department as an Information Technology Officer and currently hold the role of Director of Information Technology.

Akila Elanchelvan completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at the University of Madras from 1994 to 1997. Akila then pursued a Master of Computer Applications degree in Computer Science at Mother Teresa Women's University from 1997 to 2000.

In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE) certification from Mile2 in December 2020. Recently, in March 2022, they completed the Malware Prevention, Discovery, and Recovery (MPDR) certification offered by FEMA. Moreover, in April 2022, they attended the Silicon Valley Cyber Security Summit organized by Cyber Security Summit | cybersecuritysummit.org.
