Mike Barnhart

Mike Barnhart is an experienced educator with a significant background in special and general education. Currently serving as a Special Education Teacher and case manager at the Santa Clara County Office of Education since December 2016, Mike Barnhart focuses on children with severe disabilities. Prior to this role, Mike worked as a substitute teacher across various school districts, teaching grades K-8 in both general and special education. With over 14 years as an Elementary School Teacher in the Oak Grove School District, Mike Barnhart utilized data-driven instruction, Common Core standards, and collaboration within Professional Learning Communities to enhance student learning. Early career experience includes teaching second and third grades in the Cupertino Union School District, where Mike contributed to the district's math curriculum committee. Mike Barnhart’s education includes a Master of Arts in Education Leadership from San José State University and progress towards a special education credential through the EPIC program.
