Maryna Sedoryk

Water Resources Analyst at SANTA CRUZ CITY OF

Maryna Sedoryk has a diverse and extensive work experience. Maryna started their career as a Recovery Agent at Macy's in 2010, where they worked until February 2011. After that, they interned at NOAA as a member of the Salmon Ecology team, assisting with fieldwork and laboratory projects. In 2012, Maryna became a Oregon Sea Grant Scholar at Oregon State University. The following year, they joined the UCSC Student Environmental Center as a College Eight Garden Coordinator and also became a steering member of the organization. In 2014, Maryna worked as a Scientific Aid at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife until July 2016. During this time, they also became a Fisheries Technician at Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission for a brief period from January to March 2015. From August 2016 to November 2019, Maryna served as a Fisheries Biologist 1 at the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission. Currently, they are working as a Water Resources Analyst at the City of Santa Cruz, a position they have held since November 2019. Additionally, Maryna has volunteered as a guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium since June 2007, accumulating 750 hours of volunteer service by November 2013.

Maryna Sedoryk received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Environmental Studies/Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Maryna attended the university from 2009 to 2013.
