Isaiah Guzman

Isaiah Guzman is an experienced educator and freelance writer with a diverse background in teaching and journalism. Currently serving as an Alternative Education Teacher at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education since August 2022, Isaiah has also worked as a Special Education Teacher at Watsonville High School, where a school-wide co-teaching initiative was launched. Prior roles include teaching journalism, digital video, Spanish, and history at Monte Vista Christian School, where Isaiah developed innovative curricula and produced student films. As a freelance writer since 2002, contributions to prominent publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle and San Jose Mercury have been made. Isaiah's foundational experience in journalism includes serving as a Sports Writer for the Santa Cruz Sentinel, where notable efforts expanded readership within the Latino community. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Education from Cairn University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from San Jose State University.
