Karyn Crawford

Karyn Crawford serves as a Criminalist III at the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, where responsibilities include leading digital forensics, extracting and analyzing data from various digital media, and documenting crime scenes. Over a career marked by progressive roles within the same organization, Karyn authored the Digital Forensics Procedure and Training Manuals and has been involved in evidence processing and courtroom preparations. Previous experience includes positions as a Graduate Assistant at Marshall University, focusing on buprenorphine research, and internships at multiple forensic laboratories, gaining hands-on experience in evidence management and chemical analysis. Karyn holds a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Merced.
