Susan Patterson

Susan Patterson has extensive experience in education, currently serving as an ELD Coach and Multilingual Learner TOSA at Santa Maria Bonita School District since August 2021. Previously, Susan founded and wrote for My MLL Mentor, focusing on instructional strategies for multilingual learners and creating online courses for teachers. A dedicated peer coach at Shelby County Schools from November 2011 to August 2021, Susan emphasized the integration of language and ESL strategies in classrooms. Additional roles include ESL Teacher and Curriculum Writer at ReadTheory, Reading Teacher at Memphis City Schools, and ESL Instructor at Akademos Learning Center. Susan Patterson holds a Master of Arts in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with a focus on ESL and a Bachelor of Arts in English/ESL, both from The University of Memphis.
