Teresita Rodriguez

VP, Enrollment Development at Santa Monica College

Teresita Rodriguez was appointed Vice President, Enrollment Development in November 2006. As SMC's senior administrator for Enrollment Development, she provides leadership for Enrollment Services, Admissions and Records, Assessment, Financial Aid & Scholarships, Outreach & Recruitment, International Education, and Student Success Initiatives. Her previous six years at Santa Monica College were spent as Assistant Dean and then Dean of Enrollment Services and Matriculation.

Rodriguez has over 28 years of experience in Enrollment Development programs in both the California Community College and the California State University systems. She has held posts responsible for the areas of Student Affirmative Action, Outreach and Recruitment, Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, Orientation Programs, Articulation, Veteran's Affairs, and International Education during her tenure at Humboldt State University and California State University, San Marcos.

Her contributions include providing leadership in the area of technological advancement that has resulted in positioning the college as a forerunner in the California Community College system with respect to streamlined student service delivery, strengthening outreach efforts and the outreach communication plan, dramatically improving the timelines for distribution of financial aid awards to students, as well as providing web-based, secure solutions for enrollment management. Rodriguez has a strong philosophy of inclusive leadership and believes that "the best solutions are born through the shared efforts of the team, not just the individual."

Rodriguez earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish at Humboldt State University, a master's of business administration from Pepperdine University, and pursued educational doctoral studies at the University of Southern California.
