Elyse Barbara Petit

Elyse Barbara Petit, PhD, serves as the French Faculty and Language Coordinator at Santa Rosa Junior College since August 2022. Previously, from August 2017 to August 2022, Petit held the position of French Language Program Director and Assistant Professor of the Practice in French at Vanderbilt University, where responsibilities included supervising Teacher Assistants, conducting curriculum meetings, and developing syllabi for various language courses. Prior teaching experience includes positions at The University of Arizona as a Graduate Teaching Associate and as a Teacher of French as a Second Language at ECISD and Southwest Elementary School. Elyse Barbara Petit earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching and two master’s degrees in French Studies and Francophone Studies from the University of Arizona and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, respectively, as well as a bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature.
