Judy Chen

Judy Chen is the Director at Santa Rosa Symphony. Judy has over 20 years of experience in taxation, specializing in international tax.

Judy started their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in January 2000 as a Senior Tax Specialist. In this role, they completed tax due diligence reports and offered tax planning and integral entity structure advice in merger and acquisition projects. Judy also consulted for multinational corporations on Taiwan tax, China tax and China investment regulations, including capital raising strategies, investment structures and tax treaties consultation.

In addition, Judy planned and analyzed expatriate programs for the Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, and China. Judy also worked on setting up Waigaoqiao free trade zone companies (in Shanghai) and provided guidance on Chinese corporation regulations for Taiwanese clients. Judy was also responsible for applying for preferential tax rates for corporate clients and writing tax lawsuit applications.

Judy liaised between clients and managers/partners, negotiated dispute points such as service fees and project content, and coordinated with PwC global offices to provide full-range services to multinational clients. Judy also supervised team members in merger and acquisition projects and consulting assignments. Judy has also held internal training seminars for colleagues and worked as a lecturer.

Judy Chen attended the National Taiwan University, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Judy then went on to earn a Master of Accounting Science and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Judy Chen is also a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
