Gugu Mtetwa

Gugu Mtetwa CA(SA) is a highly experienced professional currently serving as the Group Chief Operating Officer and Executive Head of Strategy and Investor Relations at Santam Insurance since February 2023. Gugu has held various leadership roles, including Non-Executive Director positions at WWF South Africa, Allan Gray Proprietary Limited, Sasfin, Equites Property Fund Limited, Santam Insurance, and Development Bank of Southern Africa, where Gugu also served as Audit Committee chair. Previous experience includes managing executive finance at Vodacom and a partnership at PwC, where Gugu progressed from Manager to Partner between 2005 and 2014. Gugu holds multiple advanced degrees, including an MSc in Finance (Economic Policy) from the University of London and various qualifications from prestigious institutions such as London Business School and GIBS Business School, alongside being a qualified Chartered Accountant as per the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
