Viviane Kovess is an expert in public health and psychiatry with extensive experience in academia and consulting. Currently serving as an expert at Santé publique France since October 2021, Kovess has held a professorship at McGill University since October 1995 and works as an independent consultant through KOVESS, focusing on mental health initiatives in various countries, including Afghanistan and Georgia. Previous roles include advisor at Cour de comptes from January 2019 to May 2020, where contributions were made to a report on psychiatry financing, and president of the evaluation committee for mental health plans at Haut Comité Santé Publique from 2010 to January 2019. Kovess also directed the epidemiology and biostatistics department at EHESP and led health policy evaluation at Université Paris Descartes. Educational achievements include a PhD from Pierre and Marie Curie University, an MSc from McGill University, and an HDR from UVSQ.
