Barry Jurs

Barry Jurs is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in economic development and project management. Currently serving as Sr. Project Manager for Economic Development at Santee Cooper since May 2020, Barry previously held the position of Economic Development Director for Berkeley County (SC) Government from January 2015 to April 2020, where significant achievements included securing $4 billion in capital expenditures and creating over 10,000 jobs across various sectors, notably the Volvo Cars USA manufacturing facility. Barry also served as Executive Director of LORD BERKELEY CONSERVATION TRUST from January 2004 to December 2014. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Biology from College of Charleston and a Physician's Assistant certification from the Medical University of South Carolina.
