Dan J. Ray is the 1st Vice Chairman at Santee Cooper. Dan has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, including stints at Jefferies, Ducks Unlimited, Capmark, and Piper Jaffray.

Ray began their career in 1984 as a Field Artillery Officer in the US Army. Dan served for nine years before transitioning to the private sector, where they have held various positions in investment banking and project finance.

At Jefferies, Ray was the Managing Director and Head of Project Finance from January 2009 to December 2016. In this role, they led the investments, banking, and servicing for the global investment bank and mortgage subsidiary.

Prior to Jefferies, Ray was the Managing Director and Head of Global Project Finance at Capmark from January 1999 to December 2009. In this role, they led project finance investments and banking for the global mortgage bank and investment banking subsidiaries.

Ray has also served as Senior Vice President at Piper Jaffray from January 1993 to December 1999.
