Karl Konopka

Karl Konopka is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Head of Non-Clinical Development at Santhera Pharmaceuticals since January 2019. Prior to this role, Karl held positions at Astellas Pharma as Associate Scientific Director in Translational Pharmacology & Development, and at Grünenthal as Associate Director of Translational Medicine. Karl's earlier career includes roles as a Senior Scientist at Vernalis PLC, In vivo Pharmacologist at Merck, and Scientist at Ingenium Pharmaceuticals AG, as well as research positions at the University Medical Center Groningen and the University of Muenster. Karl holds a PhD in Medical Science from the University of Groningen and an MSc in Biology from Bielefeld University.
