Jon Minken

Jon Minken is a seasoned geologist with extensive experience in hydrocarbon exploration and development. Currently, at Santos Ltd since August 2018, Jon is a key member of an exploration team in the Bedout Sub-basin, contributing to significant hydrocarbon discoveries. Previously, Jon held various geological roles at Quadrant Energy, where leadership in the Gabon team involved creating geologic models and coordinating subsurface efforts. At Ophir Energy, Jon focused on regional geologic characterizations in Gabon and Kenya, enhancing understanding through seismic interpretation and data integration. Prior experience includes significant tenures at Hess, where contributions ranged from assessing the potential of the Beetaloo Basin to advancing projects in the Exmouth Plateau, Australia, and West Africa. Jon holds an MSc in Geology from the University of Oklahoma and a BSc in Geology from the University of Alberta.
