Richard Fernie

Richard Fernie has extensive experience in geological operations, currently serving as Team Lead for Geological Operations at Santos Ltd since June 2019, with previous roles including Geomechanics, Operations Geologist, and Wellsite Geologist. Prior to this, Richard operated as a self-employed Open Water Scuba Instructor from December 2011 to September 2019, and worked with Schlumberger as a Mudlogging/MWD field specialist from February 2014 to June 2019. Additionally, Richard completed a Student Internship at Woodside Energy and held a vacation position in Development Geology at Horizon Oil Limited. Richard holds an Honours degree in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics and a Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geophysics, and Applied Geology, both from the University of Adelaide. A thesis was completed on Oxfordian Rift-associated Unconformity Characteristics in the Northern Carnarvon Basin, North West Shelf, Australia.
