Thomas Saueressig

Thomas Saueressig is a member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. He leads the Board area SAP Product Engineering and has global responsibility for all core products from development to delivery including product management. This also includes the flagship suite SAP S/4HANA, digital supply chain solutions, industry solutions, design and user experience across the entire portfolio, product enablement, the localization of software, and the SAP Labs Network. Furthermore, Saueressig is responsible for SAP’s global cloud infrastructure providing a consistent level of scalability, reliability, performance, security, and data protection across all solutions for our customers. With his team, he ensures product quality for all SAP offerings, and he leads SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud.

Before taking on his role in the SAP Executive Board, Thomas Saueressig was chief information officer (CIO) and global head of IT Services. As CIO, he acted as a trusted advisor for SAP and our customers and was responsible for IT strategy and execution. Under his leadership, the IT organization has taken a cloud-first approach to becoming an agile and user-centric organization that ensures a great user and customer experience. The organization uses the latest technologies and innovations to optimize business processes and to ensure high customer and user satisfaction. Under Saueressig’s leadership, the team also pioneered new business models.

Thomas Saueressig started his career at SAP in consulting for CRM implementations. He then led the Enterprise Mobility organization including all cross functions and the global IT Project Delivery and Client IT organization.

Saueressig was included on Fortune’s 40 Under 40 list in 2016. He has a degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim (Germany) and a joint executive MBA from ESSEC (France) and Mannheim Business School (Germany).
